~Appearance~

-Basic-

Height: 5’ 7”

Hair Style/Color: She had violet colored hair which was long and straight, it cut off at a little past her lower back; she had hair on the side of her head which framed her face down to her cheeks and curl under her cheek bones while her bangs stopped before the tip of her nose.

Seventeen months after Aizen’s defeat, Kizomaru has cut her long violet hair down so that it only passes the back of her neck; not fully shoulder length, and it is semi-straight, her hair slightly curls around the back of her neck while her fringe and bangs retain their normal length.

Eye Color: Her eyes are a clear crystal blue color.

Breast Size: Her cup size is C.

Skin Tone: Her skin tone is a soft peach color.

Scars: Diagonally down the left side of her torso she has a large claw mark shaped scar from a near-death experience with a hollow back when she was still new. from her left shoulder, over part of her left breast, down the right side of her torso and ending at the right side by her waist line.

Diagonally down from her right shoulder to her left hip: From a fight with a Soldat during the first Quincy invasion of the Seireitei, while the wound was not enough to take her down, it was still a significant enough wound to leave a scar. The scar is reminiscent of a wound from a blade.

Right on her throat: Obtained by being shot by a Sternritter during the final Quincy Invasion, the wound was severe enough that Niveous had to possess Kizo to insure she survived.

The center of her chest: After Niveous took over to help them both survive, it was the final shot that put Kizo down for the count, however she managed to survive due to Niveous being able to fake their instant demise long enough to allow them to escape and hide. It took the last bit of strength Niveous had to bring them to safety before finally collapsing and teetering the brink of death.

Tattoos: She has a tattoo of a wolf paw print on the left side of her stomach which sits a little below her navel, it’s an all-black tattoo and about a medium size.

Everything Else: She tends to keep her finger nails a little on the long side, growing them out a quarter of an inch past the tip of her fingers, she keeps the points rounded; Occasionally she will paint her nails with the pattern of deep purple and black.

Her preferred colors are black, various shades of purple, some pink, blue and silver.

She wears her lieutenant’s badge around her left arm, though she doesn’t wear it unless she has to. Which means during work hours.

Professional:Her work uniform is the standard shihakusho but with the following modifications, first the top is sleeveless and is designed more like a halter top with no back. Second, she wears slip on kimono styled sleeves, sort of like arm slims, which give the appearance of being tied on, that stop a little past the second knuckle on her hands. She wears white tabi and brown straw sandals.



Casual/Gigai: Her casual/gigai dress consists of a punk rock style, wearing loose fitting neck ties and dress shirts, checker patterned skirts over jeans or sometimes on their own. Black fishnet stockings when she wears skirts on their own, the skirts are never usually short, stopping at her knees most of the time as she feels uncomfortable wearing anything shorter. Her shoes are a combination of regular sneakers to knee high boots, sometimes heeled boots but she prefers flat top laced boots. She also has a collection of stripped and solid colored hoodies with wolf ears and a fur trim; all her hoodies have long sleeves. She wears various different accessories like rings, bracelets and earrings, however her favorite accessory is a black faux velvet choker with a silver crescent moon pendant dangling off it, and it stops at the top of her collar.


Formal: When dressing formally, whether she would be going to a party or other special occasions, she sticks to long dresses in her preferred colors; sometimes the dresses will be styled like a kimono, others the dress will be strapless or halter styled. She wears subtle make-up, light eye shadow/liner/mascara and a light coat of lipstick that is colored to go with whatever dress she chose to wear. She’ll also wear her hair in a style which looks best with her outfit, but she tries to keep it in styles she’s comfortable with. She wears her crescent moon choker, and sometimes a simple bracelet if she feels her outfit could use it. She also tends to wear high heels, though the heels are never higher than an inch or two.

-Personality-

She’s an open minded individual, always willing to try anything at least once; though despite she does have certain lines she refuses to cross, she always tells someone up front what her boundaries are so that no one is left guessing. She fights for what she believes in regardless of whether or not it might be against an order, she also refuses to fight against anyone who appears to be of young age. She’s rather stubborn when it comes to standing up for her opinions she often voices, whether they want to hear them or not; though she knows there’s a place and a time for her opinion.

She doesn’t really care for people who flaunt their wealth or are of a wealthy background or those who are overly arrogant, she finds those types of people to be rather annoying and she prefers to shy away from them at all times; Despite this though, she has come to respect her former captain Byakuya Kuchiki. She also becomes tense around those of a higher rank than her and she addresses those of the same rank with the honorific ‘san’, she knows her manners since serving under Byakuya he always emphasized their importance.

Kizomaru suffers from PTSD, which was a result of witnessing her foster parent’s deaths when she was younger. The once happy child had become far more anxious and alert than she should have been at her age, and had a great difficulty sleeping as well; in fact, she did all she could do avoid going to sleep to avoid the horrible memories which plagued her dreams. She was irritable from lack of sleep, and would snap at her younger sister over the smallest of things. She felt bad about her outbursts and always did her best to make it up to Asami. She did her best to ignore her worsening mental condition so she could be there for her little sister, though whenever Asami was sound asleep, Kizo would find herself sobbing and curled into a little ball.

She had frequent flashbacks during class and often had trouble concentrating because of the severity of her condition, eventually the academy had to tell her to see a therapist or she would be forced out of the school. She complied and began treatment close to three months after being accepted into the academy, the therapist had prescribed her medication which she first refused to take, but as she realized she may not fare so well without it she reluctantly began taking it.

She’s said that if those she’s close to end up falling in battle she would, without hesitation, end her own life, saying that if such a thing were to happen she would lose all meaning for her to live. Back when she was still new to the Gotei Thirteen, the stress of everything coupled with her condition had caused her to attempt such a thing; however she was never able to take any self-inflicted wound past more than a minor cut. When she begins falling back into a depressive state she’ll smile more often to attempt to throw off those who might notice, wanting to mask her feelings but this usually fails despite her best efforts.

Her support system not only includes those she calls friends, but a therapist from Squad Four. Though she’s gotten over having flashbacks while in combat and in general, she still has trouble sleeping at night because of her condition, which has worsened since her inner hollow surfaced. Prior to Niveous’ arrival, she had actually been less depressed less often and was even off of her medication completely (which she had been on and off of anyway, because there were times she gave it up because she felt it wasn’t doing her any good anymore), though the anniversary of her foster parents deaths still gives her a hard time and always had even before Niveous.

Kizo had avoided Inuzuri since the incident as it naturally brought back unwanted memories, however she convinced herself that if she was going to recover she would have to go back. At first it caused her trouble, but after consulting with her therapist she was told to try to remember the happier times she had there with her family and it helped, she was able to make it through one whole shopping trip. Though, whenever she got too close to the exact spot, she would begin to lose control over herself.

She is also the type who will do anything for those she loves, specifically her partner; willing to go to any lengths if it meant making/keeping them happy, despite how tired she may be from her own work. She never minds doing things for the one she loves as long as it means their happiness. She always puts the interests of others above her own.

She has a habit of becoming fidgety and frightened whenever someone shows aggression towards her, becoming timid and often will tremble slightly. She has a fear that the person mad at her will lash out physically, even if she knows they won’t. She’s unsure where the fear came from, but perhaps it has to do with her past while she was alive. Also this fear is unknown to most, though it becomes obvious whenever she’s in such a situation which is rare given the fact that the people she knows aren’t prone to outbursts like she fears (i.e. someone who would be aggressive for the sake of it, someone who is prone to violent outbursts.).

It should be noted that one should never sneak up behind Kizomaru, because of her condition she has an over exaggerated startle response; meaning if you catch her off guard by sneaking up on her from behind you’ll most likely be punched in the face or elbowed in the stomach. It’s an automated response that Kizo has yet to learn to control, and she always apologizes profusely after she’s hit someone. Many of her friends found out the hard way not to sneak up on her.

Kizomaru absolutely hates conflicts and confrontation, more so on a physical scale than a verbal one. She’ll do everything within her power to avoid fighting unnecessarily. However this doesn’t mean she’s a coward, despite loathing fighting she will not hesitate to stand up and fight an enemy.


When Kizomaru fights she becomes calculating and silent, preferring not to speak much during a battle if it can be helped. She tries her best to bring about a quick end to her enemy if she is able, since she has a dislike for battle, but if her inner hollow gets the better of her she’ll end up fighting longer than she would like.

Kizomaru is also very independent, she prefers doing things on her own rather than constantly relying on others for help; Regardless of how much she might need someone’s help she’ll refuse, she doesn’t want to burden anyone with her own troubles knowing that those people are most likely handling something far worse than what she’s suffering. She hates the idea of just dumping issues on people when they could be having their own troubles and therefor will keep to herself and refuse to lean on someone else, however, if she really feels defeated she’ll turn to those she’s close to for help; Something she learned when she became closer to people who she can now consider her friend and when she began taking therapy.

Because of her inner hollow aggravating her condition there are times where she can seem easily irritated and in a foul mood, when this is the case she’s easier to anger over little things and will snap at someone for no apparent reason. Though she does feel bad about it, she usually doesn’t apologize until she has calmed herself down.

During work Kizomaru is very serious and strict, she refuses to goof off and joke around when she’s on the clock. This makes her appear as a stick in the mud upon first meeting her though that’s not the case, when Kizomaru is on a break or finished with work in general she’s actually more relaxed and casual than when she had been working.

She has a habit of speaking formally when in the company of people who are of higher rank or of great importance, always making sure she’s as polite as she can be. Though as soon as she leaves their company Kizo lets her hair down and speaks more casually.

For the most part, while off duty, Kizomaru is a kind girl who does her best to be cheerful despite everything she’s been through. Though at times it’s harder for her to smile, she always tries to see the bright side of life. More often than not however, Kizomaru is less optimistic about life and tends to have a dreary outlook on things. Odd thing is, she finds it far easier to be optimistic for someone else rather than herself, and she’s not quite sure why that is. She loves having a good time and just enjoying the company of her friends and family.

-History-

When Kizomaru was alive it was during a time which there was constant fighting throughout Japan, one literally had to take heavy precautions when venturing outside their home it was so war stricken, making it hard to go about daily life without being fearful of dying. Kizomaru’s particular home life was horrid, her father was an abusive man who would harm her and her mother on a daily basis; That changed little when her younger sister Asami was born, in fact it seemed to make him worse, as their mother was too busy with the children that when it came time for anything else she simply lacked the energy and was ‘late’ by his definition.


A year after the birth of her little sister, after the both of them had suffered greatly alongside their mother at the hands of their father, Kizomaru had finally broken and had enough, as well as her mother; The mother waited until her husband had left the house, presumably to go get drunk, before she went to her broken children who had tucked themselves away in a corner of the room. Kizomaru and her mother exchanged knowing glances before her mother gave Kizo the go ahead to flee with her little sister, saying that she would handle their father when he returned. Though she was reluctant, Kizo herself had wanted to escape and free both herself and her sister from their life, even if it meant risking death upon leaving their home. Eventually (after some protest) she agreed and, after a touching moment, her mother gave her some spare cash she had been saving and told her to take her sister and run.

Kizomaru obeyed her mother and took the money, scooping her younger sibling up in her arms and quickly fleeing the house; about ten minutes after leaving their home they ran into their father, who was extremely drunk, and after some yelling and cursing it seemed the father had finally snapped. He took the katana he carried with him where ever he went and slayed both his children, with Kizomaru taking the worst damage as she was trying to protect her sister, who fell victim shortly after Kizo did. Their father took the money from Kizo’s corpse then went home where it’s presumed he slaughtered his wife as well.

Kizomaru woke up in the 77th District in the South Ally of Flowing Spirits with her younger sister Asami after they had died; Asami was only but a one year old when she had passed. Kizo was unable to recall much about what had happened other than she was in pain one moment then not in the next; Though after a brief moment of silence she was able to remember that she and her sister had been slain at the hands of their father, and gathered that both were dead and the place they awoke was the afterlife. Eventually, after wandering around aimlessly for what felt like years but was really months, having to resort to sneaking food and drink from the various shops surrounding them in order to survive, they came across a loving couple who took them into their shabby home and kept them safe to the best of their abilities.

One day, about a year and a half after their host parents had taken them in, while shopping in the Hanging Dog District there was a hollow attack; After the hollow went on its rampage it set its sights on Kizomaru and Asami, but their host parents threw themselves between their foster children and the creature and ended up becoming devoured by the beast, Kizomaru, who had shielded Asami after gawking in horror at the display, had become covered in not only the blood of their host parents but of the saliva of the hollow who killed them, which would cause complications for her in the future. Before the hollow could devour its real targets, however, they were saved by an unnamed Shinigami who showed up a moment later and killed the hollow. The attack left them both with a severe case of depression brought on by post-traumatic stress disorder, but the two held on because they had each other. Later Kizomaru becomes obsessed with training to better protect herself and her younger sister, feeling regretful that through all they had experienced she was unable to do much to protect her, swearing to protect the ones she loves.

She joined the Shinigami Academy three years after the death of their host parents, bringing her sister with her after they both discover their spiritual energy in hopes of a better life. Eventually as the years passed she forgot about the way she died, like the memory had been erased from her mind completely, but she couldn’t help but retain certain traits which became habitual from her living years.

Though Kizomaru didn’t have such trouble, her sister was a little less able to stand on her own. The two always hung around each other, Kizomaru had little luck making friends in the Academy given the fact that most of the students seemed like uppity pricks and she couldn’t stand how they always seemed to be looking down on the other students there. In fact she had even gotten into an altercation with one boy, who had been calling her and her sister names and teasing them because of where they hailed from. She ended up punching the boy in the face and breaking his nose after he had taunted both her and her sister, which earned her some heavy punishment, after that point Kizomaru stayed away from the majority of people there and spent most of her time either studying or with her sister who was just too shy to try making friends, mostly because of how rude the people seemed to be.

After graduating from the academy and discovering her zanpakuto ability Kizomaru joined with Squad Two, figuring that’s where her abilities would fit in and would be made the best use of, having heard a lot about the Gotei Thirteen and its squads individually as part of the curriculum, she just knew her skills would work best there. Her sister however, was too fearful to apply with her and instead joined Squad Four. Asami felt that, due to their lack of time on the battle field, she would fit in best there. Though both girls were sad to go separate ways after spending so much time together and never leaving each other’s sides, they figured they would still get to meet up and hang out with each other on their time off, they also knew that if they wanted a chance at a better life they had to start doing their own thing in order to be more independent.


Four months after being accepted into Squad Two Kizomaru was sent out on her first mission, there had been a group of hollow causing trouble in the Rukon forest and she had been sent out with a group of her fellow 20th seats to take care of them. They were mostly small fry in terms of power, higher seated officers could’ve taken them out with ease, but there was one unique looking hollow of a power level beyond what they had been dispatched to face; realizing this, someone sent a Hell Butterfly out calling for backup and the group began to pull back after defeating most of the other, weaker hollow. Kizomaru was exhausted from the battle, not used to taking on so many hollow at once coupled with trying to retreat from the greater threat proved to be too much for her and she fell behind.

The hollow saw her as an easy target and attacked Kizo, a deep gash diagonally down the left side of her torso, the force of the attack threw her into a tree and she quickly fell unconscious, she's still not sure quite how she survived. The backup arrived fairly quickly, and with some trouble they were able to defeat the odd hollow, taking notes for their eventual incident report as something was...Off, about this specific hollow.

Later in her life Kizo would learn just what that hollow was and exactly what it did to her.

The next thing Kizo remembers is waking up in Squad Four’s barracks unable to move much, she was told that she and her group were lucky back up arrived when it did, if they hadn't rushed out there and rushed her back to Squad Four, she would have died. She didn’t seem stricken by the information since death had been her wish for quite some time, and the near death experience did little to renew her lust for life. She was in Squad Four for almost a month to recover and at the end of it all was left with a huge scar as a permanent reminder of what had happened that day. She disdains the scar after learning more about that hollow, and just as a reminder of her biggest failure as a Shinigami.

A year and a half after being accepted, while her captain was out on mission leaving her lieutenant in charge, Kizomaru had gotten into an altercation with the heavy set male; Mainly about his attitude and how he carried himself because of his status, this infuriated Omaeda and caused him to take a drastic action, figuring she needed the discipline and lessons in respect he had her transferred over to Squad Six where her sister resided, knowing their captain would be the thing which he felt she needed. She became reunited with her sister, who seemed worse off due to what Kizomaru found out was a stressful environment, granted being in Squad Two was stressful, but the busy work schedule and tense atmosphere seemed to add to the stress.

At first Kizomaru had issues adjusting and dealing with Byakuya’s overall existence, but as the years past she grew used to it and even came to respect her captain, as he wasn’t quite as bad as she would have expected. She found a friend in her lieutenant and even came to see him as something of an older brother, the two often pick on each other but it’s all in good fun. Though throughout her entire Shinigami career Kizomaru’s mental stability fluctuated, coping with the stresses her new life gave her and the depression which she fought on a daily basis was often too much for her, leading her to cause herself harm; Once she attempted suicide however the attempt fell short as she was unable to fatally wound herself and ended up with a deep cut on her forearm rather than across the wrist as she had been trying, fortunately each time Squad Four was able to repair the wounds with ease, however the wounds left massive scarring on both of her arms, she now wears bandage wraps to help hide the scars so as to not cause any issues.

Twenty Years after she was transferred to Squad Six, when she was an eighth seat, she went shopping in Inuzuri. Claiming it was a cheap place for her to shop for all she needed though it’s also for nostalgic reasons since not all memories of hers and her little sisters trips with their host parents there were bad. It was there she literally bumped into Hisagi Shuuhei, intimidated by his rank at first until he calmed her with his friendly nature. When he introduced himself she lit up since when she was still in the academy she had idolized him and had learned a great deal about whom he was and his achievements. After the two met they spoke often and it wasn’t long before they were friends, Kizomaru met a great deal of people through both him and Renji and gathered enough of a support system that she could feel safe enough to turn to any of them should she need to; However her independent nature made her more reluctant to do so, she would turn to someone when she felt she could no longer handle things by herself.

It seemed though, that the person she turned to the most was Shuuhei, though that was partially because of the crush she had developed on him through the years, but she knew he had feelings for someone else and that the odds they would end up together were slim, so she took any sort of attention she could from him to help quell her desires. She did turn to her other friends, especially when it concerned her feelings for the young lieutenant since she couldn’t exactly speak to him about them.  


After the war with Aizen ended, Kizomaru became promoted all the way to Squad Two co-lieutenant, having proven herself and seeing the way she had grown as a fighter, Soifon decided to promote her up to the added position. Omaeda was not thrilled at first that he had to share the rank, but then he realized he could basically dump his end of the paperwork onto Kizomaru so he could have more free time to laze about, however Kizomaru wasn't having any of his shit and always returned the paperwork to his desk when he was napping.

Her inner hollow made herself know just at the end of the Winter War, all the stress Kizomaru had been suffering allowed her state of mind to become weak enough for the hollow to surface. Why Niveous waited so long to show herself is unknown, though Kizo suspected that it must have been trying her whole career as a Shinigami,as she remembers suffering frequent headaches that she simply just attributed to stress. She accepted them as chronic stress migraines and saw Squad Four often for relief.

What held it just barely at then surface for so long is something she isn't sure about, she does recall having periods where her migraines weren't as frequent or intense, and those were times she was less stressed or more at peace with things. Maybe the hollow needed the negativity of the war to achieve a full take over.


When it first surfaced and took control of Kizo, Niveous attacked everyone close to her including her sister and nearly killed her. Which has left Asami terrified of Kizo though they're working on it. She's currently training with the Visored to help gain control over Niveous.

-Powers & Abilities-

Expert Swordsmanship Specialist: Due to her constant training Kizomaru has become highly proficient in sword fighting, her skill level fits with her ranking almost perfectly. She is also very good at dual weapon fighting.

Hakuda Combatant: Thanks to her time in Squad Two she is skilled enough in hakuda that she can fight efficiently without her zanpakuto, though she does not rely on hakuda as her main battle technique,she’s proficient enough that should she loose her weapons she can defend herself against an enemy. When she became Squad Two lieutenant she made sure to train harder in this skill, she’s not quite an expert but she’s better than she used to be.

Shunpo Expert: Since she prefers fights to end quickly she's honed her shunpo to allow her quick and swift movement, this helps her get the jump on her target. She can keep up with those of an equal rank easily while she still has a little trouble keeping up with some captains.

Kido Skill: She can easily use kido spells 1-60 without becoming too winded, though for some kido spells past sixty she must still recite the incantation for the spell before using it.


-Zanpakuto Information-

Name: Ankoku

Sealed Appearance: In its sealed state it takes the form of a wakizashi sword which she ties on her right hip, it's kept in a pitch black sheath and has a deep purple cloth wrapped around the handle. The tsuba is shaped like crescent moons and is silver, the overall length of the weapon is standard length.

Material Appearance: Ankoku’s spirit appearance while in Kizomaru’s inner world is that of a black wolf with amethyst purple eyes and streaks of silver in her fur, her breed is a Gray Wolf and her size is that of a normal Alpha female. When she manifests herself in the real world she becomes an anthropomorphic version of herself, a tall woman with shoulder length jet black hair and wolf ears and tail, she has silver tribal design tattoos which cover both her arms from the wrist up to her shoulder and in turn loses the silver streaks in her hair. She wears a purple and black kimono like dress, the sleeves are slit horizontally along the forearm, the dress is more form fitting than a typical kimono. Ankoku also wears a black choker with a silver crescent moon pendant sitting in the center.

Personality: Ankoku is a rather cheery zanpakuto despite being one of shadow; she’s energetic and loves teasing her master. She will do her best to protect Kizo in situations where her master is unable to fend for herself, this mostly occurs in the form of spats between Kizo and Niveous. The two are very close and she’ll often call Kizomaru “Kizo-sama” to display such closeness. She often butts heads with Kizomaru’s inner hollow Niveous, because she will torture her master to no end when she feels like it, so Ankoku has to step in on Kizo’s behalf and thwart off its attempts at doing her mental harm

Inner World: Her inner world is a meadow at night, a big, bright full moon shines in the sky over head which almost out shines the millions of stars. In the center of the meadow is a lake in which the reflection of the moon and stars can be seen, at the edge of the lake is a large Sakura Blossom. Fallen Sakura petals float along the surface of the lake in a calm manner, Ankoku is usually found lounging by the lake, mostly under the Sakura Blossom, when first entering the inner world, while Niveous shows up from anywhere at random.


-Shikai Information-

Release Command: Kieru (Vanish or lit. To Vanish)

Appearance: Upon release she gains two wakizashi of equal length to its sealed state, they have an inky black appearance, made from unadulterated darkness that has taken solid shape in the form of blades as sharp as steal.

Ability: Ankoku can manipulate shadows, as such Kizo can phase her weapon through solid objects should she need to (i.e. an opponent’s weapon to prevent breaking her blades).



-Techniques-

Kage no Shoshitsu (Disappearance of Shadows): This technique is usually used when Kizomaru first releases her zanpakuto to confuse opponents. Aside from that it is used as a means of evading an attack. When she uses this attack it looks as though she’s vanished in a similar way a hollow looks when it passes through an object. Kizomaru can stay hidden in the shadows for three to five minutes depending on how much energy she has.

Clone: In her shikai state Kizo can create one clone of herself, this is because it uses her own shadow to make the clone. Allows her to avoid damage. The clone can interact with the enemy, either by attacking or grabbing them.

Shadou Supaiku (Shadow Spike): Kizomaru uses this technique by slamming the blade on one of her wakizashi swords into the ground; it creates spikes which form from the shadows on the ground. The spikes rise up from the ground at the opponent, only reaches a total length of five feet, able to reach that height by feeding off of Kizomaru’s reiatsu.

Kage Torappu (Shadow Trap): This is a technique which can snare an opponent with the shadows on the ground, usually by the foot and or ankle. It makes it harder for the enemy to get away and easier for direct hits. This attack can be set while she is hidden in the shadows.

When Kizomaru enters bankai there's a strong burst of reiatsu followed by a broad spreading darkness that forms a sphere around her and her opponent, encompassing them both before they seemingly disappear without a trace. The reiatsu of both suppressed and undetectable by those on the outside.

On the inside there is nothing but shadow, it's the length of one football field and retains a spherical character; there are walls, a floor, a top and no discernable exits. The only ways to leave are Kizo ending her Bankai (either by will or by loosing too much reiatsu) or by killing her or rendering her unconscious.

Ability: Kage no Jigen transports both Kizo and her opponent into the dimension of shadows, giving her enemy a sight disadvantage for two rounds until their eyes adjust to the darkness, Kizomaru however can still see. Since they are surrounded by pure darkness, the environment is hers to control; meaning she can call upon the shadows to reach out towards her foe to hold them in place, meld into the floor and reappear from a wall, use the very ground they walk on to pin them in place, or to forge herself any bladed weapon of her choice.

-Techniques-

Kage no Shoshitsu: In her Bankai Kizomaru can remain hidden in the shadows for five to ten minutes depending on how much energy she has. It’s important to note that unless she has to she never stays hidden in the shadows for long.

Nigiri no Kage (Shadow grip): This is a more powerful version of Kage Torappu in which Kizomaru can bind enemies with the shadows, and since all shadows are under her control in this realm, she can use the shadows to bind them and render them unable to move at all by summoning shadowy hands from all sides of her opponent and grabbing them, keeping them in place. If the enemy spikes their reiatsu they can fend off the binding effects, but they must have a reiatsu strength equal to or higher than hers.

Clones: Kizomaru can create clones of herself from the shadows, since the environment is nothing but shadow; she can create them from anywhere, below, above, to the sides, front and behind. Her shikai allows only one clone to be made. In her bankai she can make as many as three. Clones can attack or grab the enemy.

Shadou Supaiku (Shadow Spike): Kizomaru uses this technique in her bankai by stomping her foot, sending vibrations that create spikes which form from the shadows on the ground. The spikes rise up from the ground at the opponent, reaches a distance of 15ft in her bankai and length of 10ft, able to reach such feats by feeding off of Kizomaru’s reiatsu.


~Visored Information~

Name of Inner Hollow: Niveous Umba

Appearance: She weighs the same as Kizomaru and stands at roughly the same height, the only differences between the two are that Niveous’ skin is completely white, her hair is a very light shade of purple; She has yellow irises set in black sclera and her shihakusho is pure white with a black obi sash, black tabi and white straw sandals cover her feet. While her version of Ankoku is black when unsealed, when she unleashes Shikai the blades take on a pure white appearance as do all her attacks which, despite their color, are indeed shadow based attacks. That is the reason why Kizo had named her Niveous Umba or, ‘white shadow’.

Personality: She is highly obnoxious and very rude, speaking familiarly with anyone and has no regards for rank. She has a loud mouth and never knows when to shut up, often pushing things well beyond their limit which causes great stress to both Kizomaru and Ankoku. She’s cruel and cannot stand her hosts pacifistic nature, as she loves nothing more than fighting and causing trouble. She especially loves torturing Kizo about various things which causes her further distress, often times it will be about the death of her parents.

Niveous and Ankoku don’t get along; the zanpakuto will often have to jump in when the hollow takes things beyond the limit, which causes the two to bicker constantly. Niveous also loves surfacing at inappropriate times, mostly when she’s addressing her captain which causes trouble for her host. Since Kizo is still in the stage of trying to tame her inner hollow it runs rampant frequently, which causes her pain and a great deal of stress, however she’s been working with the other Visored present in the Soul Society to help gain the control she needs, but Niveous makes it extremely difficult for her despite allowing her to tap into her powers; If she feels like Kizomaru might fall in battle she won’t hesitate to take over though only for her own benefits.

Hollow Mask Appearance/Powers: Kizomaru’s hollow mask takes the form of a Japanese wolf mask, like all Visored masks it’s base color is pure white.

There is a red crescent moon sitting in the center of the mask; while red swirl like designs flare out along it’s cheeks and inside it’s ears, as well as tracing around the inside of the ear and around the cheeks of the mask.

Tracing the eyes in a flame like design and bridge of the nose of the mask is res coloring, the red coloring circles around the red crescent moon mark in a wide circle.

The hollow mask grants Kizomaru the power to use a cero,it also boosts her speed, defense and spiritual pressure while wearing the mask.

-Relatives-

Birth Mother: Ayameko Igarashi (has since passed and become a Shinigami, however none of them have been in each other’s company long enough to possibly recognize the other). The two have a very loose relationship, having never spoken much outside of occasionally meeting. They’ve never been around each other long enough to realize their relation. However Ayameko feels protective of Kizomaru for reasons unknown to her.

When Ayameko and Kizo were alive they were close, Ayameko cared deeply for her daughters and did everything she was able to try to protect them.

Birth Father: Ryunosuke Igarashi (became a Togabito due to the sins he committed in his living years, sent to Hell after becoming a hollow and being killed by a Shinigami). The two have never met, however Ryunosuke still carries a burning hatred towards his daughters despite not knowing the two are living in the Soul Society.

When he and Kizo were still alive Kizo was deeply afraid of her father, despite this fear she still tried to win him over; however at a certain point she knew he would never care about her and she gave up. Instead living in constant fear of the man she though was supposed to protect her.

An Unnamed foster mother and father (the couple that took care of Kizo and Asami in the Rukon, they died protecting them from a hollow): Kizo and Asami were very close to them as children and their deaths have scarred them mentally.

Younger Sister: Asami Hotaru. The two were very close when they were growing up, almost inseparable when they were together. Though due to her angry outbursts when they were younger (after the death of their adoptive parents), till she got help, Asami seems to be somewhat frightened of her sister; this leaves them with a close yet strained relationship. The surfacing of Kizo’s inner hollow didn’t help matters, as when Kizo first hollowfied she almost attacked Asami, leaving her younger sister even more frightened of her. The two are repairing things, but it’s still rocky.

Younger Brother: Tatsuo Kiyonate/Igarashi (the still born son of Ayameko and Ryunosuke, he wound up passing to the Soul Society where he was found by Isamu and Airi Kiyonate in the Rukon, Akane Kiyonate’s birth parents). Kizo is very protective of Tatsuo despite his strong resemblance to their father in attitude and appearance; though Kizomaru has a problem with him at times she can’t quite place that resemblance as the reason for her frustrations with the boy. Despite, Kizo treats him as one would expect, though Tatsuo doesn’t seem to fully recognize Kizo as his elder sister having been around the Kiyonate clan his whole spirit life.

Eldest Sister by Adoption: Mizuko Kiyonate (related to Akane Kiyonate and adoptive eldest sister of Tatsuo, henceforth making Mizuko technically Kizo’s adoptive older sister). Kizo met Mizuko in the academy when Mizuko was a third year and Kizo a first year, Mizuko was one of the few people who were nice to both her and her little sister and often helped the two in their Kido practices. Since Mizuko is in the Fourth Division she has treated many of Kizo’s self-inflicted wounds and will often scold Kizo for her harmful behavior.

Older Sister by Adoption: Akane Kiyonate (adoptive older sister of Tatsuo, henceforth making Akane technically Kizo’s second adoptive older sister). Akane and Kizo get along well, and Akane tends to act protective of both of them, though more so Asami than Kizo seeing as the latter is able to defend herself. They met when Akane was a second year and Kizo and Asami were first year students in the academy.

Older Brother by Adoption: Akihiro Kiyonate (twin to Akane and adoptive older brother of Tatsuo, henceforth making Akihiro technically Kizo’s adoptive older brother). The two aren’t exactly close, as Kizo has only met him recently upon his return to the Soul Society. He is one of the Visored who helps train Kizomaru to control her inner hollow. Outside of that, the two are indifferent towards each other, however Akihiro has been shown to act like an older sort of brother in regards to anyone who he hears makes lewd remarks about her, this is due to the two of them being technically related albeit a non-blood relation; almost as if he feels obligated to watch out for her and Asami. Kizo has yet to witness this behavior first hand.

Younger Brother by Adoption: Misaku Kiyonate (adopted into the Kiyonate family by Akane when she found him in the Rukon district, making him Kizo’s technical adoptive younger brother). Like with Tatsuo Kizomaru acts in a very protective manner towards him, the two get along better than her and Tatsuo, but due to the boy’s prankster nature it’s fair to say she gets frustrated with him often and will scold him if a prank goes too far.

Father by Adoption: Isamu Kiyonate (adoptive father of Tatsuo and Mizuko, and biological father of Akane, Mizuko and Akihiro. Making him Kizo’s father by adoption). Isamu is very overprotective of his children; Kizo and Asami included, and he is known to act like a complete goof ball at times. He seems to spoil Asami however, as she is technically his younger daughter. It was a joint decision between him and Airi to “officially adopt” Kizomaru and Asami into their family upon learning they were related to Tatsuo and were so close to Akane and Mizuko. The adoption is only by word of Isamu and Airi however since Soul Society deems Kizomaru and Asami too old for them to legally adopt them.

Mother by Adoption: Airi Kiyonate (adoptive mother of Misaku and Tatsuo as well as biological mother of Akane, Mizuko and Akihiro. Making her Kizo’s adoptive mother). Airi is very protective of all her children, including Kizo and Asami and it was with Isamu that she made the decision to “officially adopt” the two girls into their family. Airi often reminds Kizo of her foster mother who was killed, as the two share similar personality traits. As such it’s obvious the girls have sort of latched themselves to their adoptive mother.

Kazuya Naiyume: One of the Visored helping Kizomaru tame her inner hollow. Kizomaru and Kazuya had a brief relationship in the past but the two broke things off and agreed to remain friends. Their relationship lasted a month before both realized there just wasn’t anything there. Though Kazuya seems to be loud and brash, which annoys Kizomaru at times, he’s still managed to be one of her closer support beams despite how little time they’ve known each other (about two years since Kazuya was able to return to the Seireitei). This is probably because how easily he can relate to her current situation.
